I ran across this review of your restaurant earlier and thought I would share. I want to thank Julie and Bill for their review and photos! This review was done a year ago, but is absolutely right on! I didn't meet Phillip until October of 2008, and then only by the grace of God, I am sure. It's funny how God puts people in your life. I am a member of Kappa Kappa Psi, National Honorary Band Fraternity the Lambda Pi Chapter from UT Tyler. We are always looking for places to eat after our degrees and concerts. I have horrible food allergies which makes finding a restaurant we can eat as a group at very difficult. On browsing through the yellow pages I ran across Phillip's add. I decided to call and see. I spoke to Phillip directly and explained my situation. We had 20-30 people in our group, major food allergies that are airborne as well as touch and ingested, and it would be a late reservation. None of this phased Phillip. He was more than willing to accommodate our needs. He normally closes at 5:30p, but opened for our group at 9:00p and made everything "Jenny Friendly" which is no easy task. He allowed me to put together the menu for the night so we had some variety to cover all tastes. We had smothered pork chops, chicken spaghetti, and meatloaf for the meats. He also made fried chicken and chicken fried steak in the back if anyone wanted those. Hot water cornbread, cabbage, mustard greens, black-eyed peas, mac and cheese, beans, mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes. For desert, there was peach cobbler and banana pudding, both of which were to die for! I have never had such amazing food! Phillip and his crew did an amazing job! My fraternity has adopted this restaurant as our "Official Restaurant"! He recently opened for the UT Tyler Wind Ensemble after our December concert. Once again, accommodating a late reservation, large crowd, and my allergies. I cannot say enough good things about this place! Go eat lunch or dinner there Monday - Friday 11:00A - 5:30P and Sunday 12:00P - 5:00P. Call for catering, private parties, or any other questions (903) 533-8897. I promise you will not be disappointed!
